Irish dance is challenging, it's varied, it's energetic & skillful, but more than anything it's fun!

ABOUT US

After a successful "NZ National Championships 2022", five of our world qualifying dancers look forward to representing our school and New Zealand Irish dancing on the global stage.

These students, Georgia Christensen-Walden (25), Claire Giles (18), Tessa Gilhooley (16), Tiah Otang (10) and Georgia May (10) from the Gregan school of Irish Dance based in Wellington are training hard this summer to compete at the Irish Dance World Championships in Montreal, Canada in April this year.

We are fundraising to help the young dancers in purchasing airfares to Canada, where some 6,000 participants from around the world will attend the competition organised by The Irish Dancing Commission (CLRG).

WHAT IS IRISH DANCING?

Irish Dance is more than just a skill or exercise.
It provides dancers with lifelong friendships, presentation skills, stage presence, confidence, resilience, team-work, and lets them experience the power of hard work and determination first hand.
